How the calculation works

meetings per hour = meetings booked ÷ hours worked

meetings per month = SDRs × hours per week × weeks per month × meetings per hour

hours needed = monthly target ÷ meetings per hour

SDRs needed = hours needed ÷ (hours per week × weeks per month)

Meetings per hour divides output by the time it took, so an SDR who worked 12 hours and one who worked 40 can be compared fairly. Multiply the rate by the hours your team will actually have and you get monthly capacity; divide a client's target by the rate and you get the hours that client needs.

The result is only as good as the hours. Weeks per month is a plain average: public holidays, vacations and sick days come off it, and a rate per client is more useful than one blended rate, because lists and offers differ. Read more oncapacity planning for SDR teams.

Questions

Which hours should I count?
The hours the SDR actually worked on outbound for that client or period — at least the dialing hours, and preferably the preparation and follow-up around them too. Whatever definition you pick, use the same one for every SDR and every month, or the rates are not comparable.
Should I use booked or held meetings?
Either works, as long as you are consistent. Held meetings are closer to what a client receives, so they are the better basis if you bill or pay on held meetings. If you plan on booked meetings, remember that some of them will not take place.
Why is weeks per month 4.33 by default?
Fifty-two weeks divided by twelve months. It does not take out public holidays, vacations or sick days, so lower it for months with holidays or for SDRs who are away.
Why can a rate from a few hours be misleading?
Small samples swing. Two meetings in an SDR’s first three hours is 0.67 meetings per hour on paper, but it is not a rate you can plan a client against. Use enough hours of history before you rely on the number.
Is what I type stored anywhere?
No. The calculation runs in your browser and the numbers you enter are not sent to us.

Meetings per hour, without the timesheet

Dialbrew tracks work time while SDRs work in the platform, counts working days net of public holidays and absences, and keeps a bookings-per-hour rate for each SDR on each client, with manager overrides. See it on your own roster.

One booked meeting pays for an SDR's seat for the month.
